BEND, Ore. – It’s hard to believe that the 2015 Pole Pedal Paddle officially begins tomorrow, May 16th 2015 from 9:15 am to 4:00 pm.
This free event is awesome because it offers something for everyone including alpine skiing, cycling, paddling and running.
Bend’s Olympics
One of the great things about Pole Pedal Paddle is that this annual event is like Bend’s own version of the Olympics since the entire town will either be participating or watching the event.
The fun begins tomorrow at 9:15 am when Mt. Bachelor will begin releasing PPP competitors in groups including coed pairs, families and elites plus a wide variety of different categories.
Lack of Snow Plan
There’s no denying that we’ve had a lack of snow in Bend this year versus other years and although this will affect Pole Pedal Paddle it won’t stop competitors from participating in competition since PPP organizers were ready for the lack of snow and created a trail run which is a little higher up Mount Bachelor.
Where to Watch 2015 Pole Pedal Paddle
If you’re not competing in this year’s Pole Pedal Paddle you can either cheer competitors on by waiting along the river or head to the Les Schwab Amphitheater at 344 S. W. Shevlin Hixon Drive in Bend to greet athletes who will be returning about 90 minutes after the start.
